Community Supported Agriculture
In 2015, we started our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The CSA has breathed new life into our farm, because when a customer buys a share to our farm, they become family. Without our shareholders, we wouldn't be able to continue Grandpa Ralph’s dream. Our CSA is 16 weeks long and starts in June, with the starting week being dependent upon the weather. When you join our CSA we strive to provide 6-8 varieties in every weekly basket; however, many weeks you will enjoy more! We enjoy sharing the blessing of our harvest with our friends and community. Our CSA customers also enjoy the first choice of our farm fresh meat, fruit, mushrooms, and eggs. In the spring, expect items such as lettuce, green onions, cabbage, broccoli, asparagus and beets. In the summer, expect beans, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, fresh herbs and more.
Please be aware that are risks involved with our CSA program, shared by the farm and our customers. Growing in Western PA with organic farming practices is difficult, because crops can fail and limit shareholders' bounty. However, we try very hard to ensure this doesn't happen, and the reward is a full basket every week of organic vegetables that would cost double (maybe triple!) in the grocery store. Our vegetables are picked right before they are picked up at the farm to ensure their peak freshness and optimal nutritional value. Join our family and experience our CSA yourself!
How to Become a CSA Member
1. Two ways to sign up:
a. If you would like to pay your deposit online, visit our Farm Store.
b. If you would like to pay your deposit with cash or check, please complete the CSA Signup Form. (This payment option includes a discount because there is no online transaction fee.)
2. Currently, our only pickup location is at the farm, but we are hoping to have at least one more secured soon!
3. Once signup closes, we will send an email with further instructions and details about the CSA.
3. Pay the balance by the first week of the CSA (early June, depending on the weather). If special circumstances arise which affect your ability to pay by the deadline, we will try our best to accommodate you.
